Atlantik Elektronik’s successful presentation at electronica 2018 in Munich
Planegg, November 19th, 2018
The electronica in Munich was an event with great success for Atlantik Elektronik GmbH which can be attributed to the orientation of the semiconductor products and solutions as well as the strategic cooperation with the manufacturers.
At the embedded world from November 13th to November 16th this year 80,000 trade visitors informed themselves about new products and trends. At the electronica 3.100 exhibitors from more than 50 countries met and presented their solutions.
Atlantik Elektronik presented a dazzling array of latest semiconductor solutions and embedded development trends. "We are again very pleased with the very positive response to our products and solutions", said Ottmar Flach, General Manager of Atlantik Elektronik GmbH. “The great interest of the professional audience makes Atlantik very optimistic”, because "we are able to provide our customers with the expertise and support for technologies and products that go beyond the usual semiconductor technologies. From the design phase until the implementation, we ensure cost- and power-efficient solutions for the projects at a very short time-to-market, "added Ottmar Flach.
Atlantik Elektronik exclusively presented their new platform for the flexible and quick design of Human Machine Interface systems. The purpose of this system is to simplify and accelerate the HMI hardware development process for our customers, without restricting the variety of possible options.
Another exhibition highlight was the presentation of the ConnectCore 8X from Digi International. As the next generation member in the Digi ConnectCore® family, built on NXP’s new i.MX 8X application processor, the Digi ConnectCore 8X provides a complete and secure system platform to build connected intelligent devices.
Furthermore Atlantik Elektronik demonstrated the brand-new 3D Camera System „Cube Eye”. Cube Eye can be used to implement a wide range of state of the art solutions. Cube Eye utilizes Time of Flight (ToF) technology, where the time of flight of pulsed light is measured to generate a highly accurate distance value for 77,000 points in real time. This data builds a 3D image-stream of unrivaled accuracy, which can potentially be used in any system where objects need to be identified and movements tracked in 3D.
In addition Atlantik Elektronik presented the new Qualcomm Smart Audio Platform development kit. This new development kit is designed to include the building blocks for creating a smart speaker, making it simpler for audio manufacturers to start developing straight out of the box. Qualcomm has accelerated the introduction of development platforms for all market needs. This includes platforms with support for Alibaba AI Voice, Amazon Alexa, Baidu DuerOS, Google Assistant, and Microsoft Cortana.
Another highlight was the presentation of the new revolutionary smart module based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) chipset. This module is equipped with Kryo Gold quad cores 2.2GHz and Kryo Silver quad cores 1.843GHz with built-in Neural Processing Engine which will gradually support many AI features. Based on Qualcomm’s SDM660 chipset and Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Neural Processing Engine (SNP), SC66 is pin to pin compatible with its predecessor SC60.
Also Atlantik Elektronik showed the ultra-low power infrared sensor with Human Approach detection algorithm. The AK9754 is equipped with a built-in Human Approach Detection algorithm. The infrared sensor consumes less power because of the built-in algorithm compared to existing systems that need external signal processing. This new technology enables us to change our daily life at home to a more convenient, secure, safe, and energy saving environment with sensors. The new AK9754AE is particularly suitable for battery powered applications such as IoT applications, intelligence home appliance, lighting systems, household equipment, smart locks, door phone, home information devices, IoT cameras, home and office devices as well as home automation.
In addition Atlantik Elektronik has presented the QCA4020 & QCA4024 Low power Multi-protocol System on Chips (SoCs). The QCA402x platform includes the QCA4020 tri-mode System-on-Chip (SoC) integrating Bluetooth 5, dual-band Wi-Fi and 802.15.4-based technologies, including ZigBee and Thread, and the QCA4024 dual-mode SoC integrating Bluetooth 5 and 802.15.4.
Atlantik Elektronik also has showed Qualcomm Snapdragon based System on Modules and Single Board Computer. The Production-Ready and Cross-Compatible Micro SoMs and SBCs offer an accelerated path to designing next generation embedded computing solutions that require high-performance quad-core CPU, GPU, DSP, ISP, 4K UHD HEVC video encode and decode, HDMI 2.0 support, and advanced connectivity solutions with or without LTE connectivity.
Another exhibition highlight was the presentation of the newest Atlantik display solutions – complete solutions including display, capacitive touch (PCAP) front panel, touch key, control boards, housing and driver development.
