Allmos Electronic presents the new LinkIQ™ cable and network tester from Fluke Networks.

The LinkIQ™ combines Fluke Networks cable performance testing technology with switch diagnostics for reliable cable testing. It makes it easy for installers, system integrators and network support technicians to troubleshoot network cabling and/or connect Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices to the network. The LinkIQ™ is rugged, reliable, accurate and features a gesture-based touchscreen that simplifies the operation and display of information.

The Link IQ™ provides simple pass/fail test reports thanks to the innovative LinkWare™ PC cable test management software. The device can also be used to verify the performance of switches, including those providing Power-over-Ethernet.

Single test

The Link IQ™ is based on a single test procedure that automatically displays the appropriate readings based on the situation at the other end of the cable. If the cable is open, the length and wiring are displayed. When completed with the included remote unit, the test result shows the maximum data rate the cable supports - up to 10 Gbps. If the cable is connected to a switch port, the LinkIQ displays the name of the switch as well as port name, VLAN, speed and duplex. For PoE, the LinkIQ displays the power and class (up to 90 W or Class 8) and requests power from the switch to verify what power supply is possible.

Simple documentation
The Link IQ™ uses LinkWare™ PC, Fluke Networks' documentation software that has supported a wide range of testers for 20 years and is the de facto standard solution with tens of thousands of active users industry-wide. The easiest way to manage measurement data is to use a free copy of LinkWare™. Results from a variety of Fluke products can be stored and retrieved, or PDF reports can be created using the software.
